10/22/2020 Special Meeting

FRIEND CITY COUNCIL

MINUTES-SPECIAL MEETING

OCTOBER 22, 2020, 8:15 p.m.

 

Mayor Knoke called the special meeting of the City Council to order at the City Hall.  Advanced notice of the meeting was given by publication in The Sentinel, the appointed method for giving advanced notice.  All proceedings shown were taken while the meeting was open to the attendance of the public.

 

Mayor Judith Knoke presided, and City Clerk Kim Goossen recorded the proceedings.  The following Councilmembers were present:  Stan Krause, Shane Stutzman, and Harlan Schrock.  A quorum being present, and the meeting duly convened, the following proceedings were had and done.

 

As required by the Nebraska Open Meetings Act, Mayor Knoke announced that a copy of the Nebraska Open Meetings Act has been posted on the south door of the City Hall meeting room for all in attendance to review. 

 

Mayor Knoke announced that public comments would be received at this time.  Kristen Milton stated they want to propose a change of order for the pool project.  This change of order would be for an extended pool deck plan at an additional cost of approximately $3,871.00.  This will be discussed further at the November meeting.  No other comments were offered.

 

Motion was made by Stutzman, seconded by Schrock to approve Resolution #20-13 relating to the signing of the Municipal Annual Certification of Program Compliance Form 2020.  On roll call voting aye, Krause, Schrock, Stutzman.  Nays, none.  Resolution #20-13 was passed and approved this 22nd day of October 2020.

 

Mayor Knoke recommended to Council her appointment of Jeremy Collier to fulfill Phyllis Ryan’s remaining two-year term.  After discussion, Schrock motioned to approve Mayor Knoke’s appointment of Jeremy Collier to fulfill Phyllis Ryan’s two-year term.  Seconded by Krause.  On roll call voting aye, Stutzman, Krause, Schrock.  Nays, none.  Motion carried.  The Oath of Office will be administered at the next regular City Council meeting on November 3.

 

No further business to come before the City Council, motion was made by Krause, seconded by Stutzman to adjourn the meeting.  On roll call voting aye, Schrock, Stutzman, Krause.  Nays, none.  Motion carried.  Meeting adjourned at 8:40 p.m.
